Anxiety can be a deeply challenging experience affecting us both mentally and physically. It often manifests as persistent worry, restlessness and catastrophic thinking. The physical experience of anxiety can include; increased heart rate, trembling, sweating and tightness in the chest making daily life difficult. Using Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) we can work to reframe your negative thought patterns and equip you with coping techniques and relaxation tools.
When our most important relationships bring us pain instead of joy it's natural to want to understand and reflect on what happened. Whether it's a painful breakup from your partner, disconnection from your friends or constant missundertaings from your family and loved ones. Together, we can dive deeper to cultivate greater self-awareness and understanding of your attachment styles in efforts to help you foster healthier, more fulfilling connections moving forward.
Depression can cast a heavy shadow over one's life presenting with both mental and physical symptoms. These can include; prolonged sadness, loss of motivation, difficulty concentrating, loss of interest in activities you once enjoyed, changes in appetite, changes in sleep patterns, intense feelings of hopelessness and worthlessness. This can make daily life seem overwhelming. But seeking help is a brave step! The most common therapeutic approach used to help with Depression is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). Offering a path forward, I can introduce you to techniques intended to help you feel lighter.
Experiencing grief and loss can leave you feeling overwhelmed and uncertain of how to move forward. Whether it's the loss of a loved one, a job or a significant life change, you experience a range of intense emotions from sadness to anger to numbness. Processing grief involves giving yourself permission to mourn and honour your emotions without judgment. I offer a safe space to explore and express your emotions, find meaning in the loss and navigate this challenging period with compassion and patience.
Struggling with low self-esteem can be incredibly challenging and can impact many aspects of life. You feel this ever present sense of inadequacy or self-doubt overshadowing your everyday interactions and decisions. But you're not alone in this and seeking therapy can be a crucial step toward healing. Therapeutic support for self-esteem focuses on identifying negative thought patterns, building self-awareness and most importantly fostering self compassion. It's about rewiring your inner dialogue to be kinder and more accepting. Every small step towards self-acceptance and positivity matters.
Personality shifts also known as personality disorders are enduring patterns of behaviour, thoughts, and inner experiences that deviate from societal expectations. You may struggle with interpersonal relationships, self-image, and emotional regulation. Treatment typically involves a combination of medication and psychotherapy. Through therapy, we can work together to help you gain a sense of self-awareness, identify behaviours that may not be helpful and find coping strategies that are practical and manageable.
